I have to say, I really enjoyed taking in the scenery while I was traveling to Jamie & Carlton’s wedding at Hyco Lake, NC. I was traveling from Mt. Airy and went up through the beautiful rolling hills of Virginia, past Danville to get to the lake house, where Jamie & Carlton were getting hitched. It was such a beautiful day and I can’t help, but be filled with gratitude for days like that; especially when I think of how dreary the winter was! From the moment I arrived at their lake house, I felt the warmth radiating from the kind people whom filled the house. They welcomed me in, right from the start and I felt moved observing how close both of their families were. Wedding days are usually very chaotic and rightfully so, two families that have never met before are now being thrown into the mix to share a space for a few hours. But, there weren’t any chaotic moments to be had, everyone was really close knit and it was refreshing. Jamie and her father are very close and she really wanted me to pay close attention to capturing those special moments with her dad. Jamie & Carlton have such a fun spirit about them and such a great chemistry, it made my day easy! 🙂 Congratulations Jamie & Carlton!!
I love black and white stills of the getting ready portion. Something about the image being black and white really brings a sense of peace and time standing still.
This was an AMAZING veil that, I believe if I heard correctly, was handmade by the bride. LOVE long veils, they are my favorite!!
It was really hard not to get teary eyed capturing this special moment between Jamie and her Dad right before she walked down the aisle.
I really connect with these moments of parents giving their children away before the wedding. I have two children of my own and when I see moments like this, it always makes me connect with the emotion & thoughts of; your little one is all grown and getting ready to start their life.
Presenting the fruit this way was a great idea for the reception! I think I’m going to use this fruit presentation at some get togethers this year!
Loving that country vintage wedding style!
The lake house had lights wrapped around the deck, I used a few to add more interest to their dancing photos.
This is probably one of my favorite images from their day, I can still hear the music playing from Christina Perri’s, A Thousand Years song. Love!
